  1. If you have already made a decision about taking the advanced courses, then go for it... but with some added confidence.  Don't doubt your ability, especially when you already have the motivation to excel.  I am sure that your school or your teacher or counselor can give you some suggestions about where to receive tutoring or extra help.  The first thing that I would do is to make an appointment to talk to your teachers, where you can let them know of your concerns.  They will be impressed with your desire to succeed in their course and will be able to help you come up with a study plan that will help you achieve successful results.  If your teachers are aware that you have such a strong desire to do well in their class they will be more likely to support you in this endeavor.  For them, it will be a compliment.  Also, make sure to notice what other students in your classes have the same desire to do well; if you become acquainted with them, you might have more opportunities to study with them(i.e., compare notes, quiz each other, partner with them on projects, etc.), thus boosting your ability to do well.  On a final note, my most important advice is not to be scared.  Fear will only bring negative results because it will be one more thing that you will have against you.  Realize that if you learn to prioritize, use and balance your time wisely, and stay dedicated you will have an easier time managing all of the different subjects. You can do it!  Believe in yourself and you'll be surprised with how many opportunities will be presented.

  2. You can do it if you are dedicated, come home have a snack and get down to hw. If you do begin to slide ask your teachers for help, they cant help if they dont know your need it.

  3. Right now your studies are more important than a job that pays minimum wage.  The possibilities are far greater for you if you graduate with top marks in your AP classes than they would be if you concentrated on your job.  You may be able to handle both your job, social life and homework right now but you will not be able to do it later in the year.  Be prepared to quit your job or explain to them that you cannot work for several months.  They may hold the job for you to come back to in summer until you leave for university

I have just been told that I have full credits for the AP courses.  That means that I have almost completed my first year of university.  Considering how expensive university tuition and books are, I have saved a LOT of money by doing well in AP

  4. Don't stress. I'm in the same situation as you. I'm starting high school in the fall and am taking all honors classes except for P.E. and Spanish 2.

My plan is to not procrastinate and just realize that I'm paving the path to the rest of my life so I'd better not waste the opportunities. Plus, if you are struggling, most teachers will let you drop out. But rarely will they let you join a higher class level, so make sure you are sure about your decisions.

  5. haha its funny because you sound exactly like i did before i started high school, and again as i start my junior year. my first advice is calm down... worrying is not going to help at all, enjoy summer while it lasts.

when school actually does start, take the first week and see if the level of difficulty is right for you. if you end up staying up late into the night and/or you find yourself totally lost at the end of each class, consider talking to your guidance counselor, and they'll change your class schedule.. you can do that in the first week or so of classes without penalty.

    good luck!!!

  6. i had the same problem  in school, and if i were you i would take honors...cause i have actally found that in honors...there is actually less homework...so...

  7. Don't worry about anything. That's just makes it worst. Just do what i did...I relaxed and did my best at school...but once i got stuck I asked a teacher for help and I got back on track.
