Question:

Worried about home robbery?

My family lives in a very bad neighborhood, where things have been stolen from our two-floor town house twice. My uncle gave me a Nintendo Wii and two laptops for my parents last Christmas and we cherish them like crazy. My parents are also planning to go to Italy when I graduate high school. They've been talking about it for a while and really want to get out. The problem is worrying about the security of our home. This is the first time we'll be flying abroad and out of the country. I also have pet birds (one parakeet and two diamond doves) whom I'd have to look for a trusted and responsible person to look after. Besides installing burglar alarms, are there any info or tips I should take to minimize risk of theft?
