Worried about kitten throwing up (18-20 weeks old)?

Hello, I adopted 4 kitten's about 2 months ago and they are about 18 weeks old (approx. 5 months). One of them loves wet food a ton and even if he is full it seems he will eat it. The other day this particular kitten threw up. It pretty much looked just like the canned food and he had just eaten less then 30 mins ago and all the kitten's were very active.

This is not what alarms me, yesterday one of the other kitten's also threw up. It was again in the morning not long after their morning feeding at which time they are all insanely playful and pretty much bounce off the walls for at least 2 hours. The vomit didn't look like the wet food it actually looked like the dry food they eat.

There doesnt seem to be any other symptoms and they are all behaving normally. I was just wondering if this is normal?

I know on occasion my adult (5 years old now) would throw up. Maybe 5 times in her life. and my vet said that was pretty normal. But I am just worried because these are kitten's.

Has anyone experienced this or is there any other signs I should watch for.

Any advice would be helpful. Thank you

  1. As long as they are eating drinking going potty and otherwise playful and happy all is most likely well. They are getting pretty close to the age where they are more adept at their own grooming which brings about the problem of hair balls.

Am betting all is well but if anymore symptoms occur please get to the vet immediately

  2. It sounds like they're "gorging".....eating more than their tummies can easily accommodate.  Try feeding them less food at one time.  Maybe, stretch their daily "ration" out to 3-4 meals.  This should help the "too full" tummies.

    Good luck...........

  3. ok my 19 year old cat vomited every day
