For almost 2 weeks now, I have been experiencing some weird arm/hand dicomfort. On my left hand, my ring and pinky finger has been feeling swollen (but doesn't look swollen) and now it seems to have "spread" to my forearm and shoulder. My entire arm just feels kind of week and achy. My arm also feels tight. It doesn't hurt, it's just annoying. I am worried this could be something serious. I would go to the doctor, but I don't have insurance, and I would feel pretty stupid if it were nothing. If you're in the medical profession, please help. Thank you.

  1. You may be feeling a nerve impingement due to tight muscles in your shoulders.  It can give you all the strange feelings you are experiencing.Try doing some upper body stretching to see if this helps loosen things up and decreases the symptoms:

If those exercises don't start to help in about a two week period or so, then you may need to see a doc about some type of other trapped nerve syndrome that is not treatable by stretches.

Bottom line, try the stretching before you see the doctor.  Good luck, I hope this helps.

  2. Sounds like your ulnar nerve is either pinched or damaged.  Your problem is not carpal tunnel, since it is a complete different nerve (Carpal involves the median nerve).

  3. could be a symptom of anything really and most likely minor..though i would watch it for heart related issues and MS ..check symtoms on google...it could be  nerve...but i wouldnt leave it...for too long

  4. If you spend a lot of time on the computer - it could be carpal tunnel. It might also be an allergic reaction - to food, or if you were wearing rings or bracelets?

I would suggest going to a doctor.

  5. i dont think u should mess around with your health.  ask a dr.  i know u dont have insurance, but you might find a dr who would be willing to work with u you on the payments.

  6. Sounds like a nerve to me too. We'll have you fixed up in no time. To reduce swelling I might take ibuprofen 2-3 times per day feel like it or not. The normal dose is 400 MG  prescription ibuprofen is 800 MG

    Take with food!

In the link you will find various stretches, there are also some if you click the yahoo video category. The more you do the better.

Don't force the stretch but at the same time you are trying to stretch the muscles. hold it for at least 30 seconds.

I'm not a doctor and I'm not giving you medical advice, But you know that. If you were dumb enough to take medical advice from strangers on the internet you'd already be dead.
