Worry about one of my kittens who just got spayed?

Its been 1 day after we had 2 female kittens spayed and 1 is great running around and playing and eating and drinking and the bigger one is eating and drinking and doing a lot of crying and hiding should i be concern about her or just leave her be ..Concern Cat Owner

  1. Crying and hiding is always a sign of health problems. Kittens should not be retreating like that. Both kittens should also be wearing an e-collar to make sure they don't l**k their stitches and irritate the suture region.


  2. I'd take her back to the vet's. Just to be sure.

  3. Yes, you should be concerned, cats that are crying and hiding is a sure sign that something isn't right. A cat usually hides when ill, so please take her to a vet now, she is in pain, might have an infection in the incision, it will not go away, a vet needs to see her,now,Please don't let her suffer.

  4. I would contact your vet clinic and explain her behavior. She may need to be given pain meds and have her incision checked.

  5. Your girl just needs a bit more time.  Most of mine were fine after a day of rest but Allie hid in the closet for a week. As long as she eats and drinks and you see no drainage or redness in her suture area, she will be fine. You can always call your vet when you have concerns. Hope she feels better soon.
