Before I was pregnant I was 135 weight,5'2. Now I am pregnant with my second - 13 weeks, I have morning sickness only TWICE when I was few weeks pregnant. My weight are 133 now, I am worry it's not gaining weight since. With my first pregnancy, I had such terrible morning sickness all the time 'til I was 5 months pregnant, I was only gain weight with my son a 20 pound. But this second one I don't have any morning sickness so far so why am I not gaining any weight now?

  1. There are a number of factors that could affect your weight gain.  If you only gained 20 pounds with the first, then it doesn't sound too crazy that at 13 weeks, you haven't seen much change.  If you are maintaining a busy or active lifestyle (which is easy to do when you already have one kid) chances are that you working off any extra-eating you are doing.  Just remember that the baby acts like a parasite-  it sucks all the nutrients and food it needs away from you.  When it starts developing it skeletal structure, the baby will actually suck the calcium right out of your bones if you don't get enough (part of the cause behind osteoporosis)  If you are not gaining weight then its not the baby you need to be concerned about, its you.  And unless you have a problem with dropping some weight then its nothing to worry about.    The only thing that should worry you at this point is if you are obviously losing weight and at an accelerated pace.  Toward the end of your pregnancy, when your baby is obviously gaining at a higher rate, then losing weight will be a very serious concern.  Just relax, remember that anytime you have a serious concern it is better to call your doc than to put your body and baby through the stress of unresolved fears, and just let your doc tell you when you should worry.  Good luck!
