  1. i own a Takamine EG540SSC ( http://www.takamine.com/?fa=detail&mid=8... ) and owned a takamine (i think it was a EG540SC, not two S's) before that one.

I believe the SS stands for solid top and bottom.

    the other was just a solid...top? i don't remember.

the C in SSC stands for cutaway. if you're getting an acoustic electric, get a cutaway. you'll regret if you don't.

first one was $450, current one was $500. amazing. never had any regrets. acoustic electric. built in tuner. cutaway.

I play worship to and bought these guitars strictly for that purpose.

it was pricy, but i love it.

you probably won't find my model any more, but these are available...

my models both sounded great plugged in.

another thing i really like about takamine is that they specialize in acoustic instruments. they're not like fender sticking their brand name on acoustics, electrics, yada yada... Takamine spends their time on acoustics resulting in a good sound.

if you really need cheap, i had a buddy that had an Ibanez Talman guitar. They look weird, but play nice. $199-$260. different models. body feels more like an electric guitar and is smaller than an acoustic. it's a acoustic-electric cutaway too.

personally, if you're gonna lead worship A LOT, quality is very important. If i had a choice as a worship leader, brands i'd pick would be Taylor, McPherson, Martin, and Takamine.

I don't like Gibson acoustics. I think they're too big and gibson charges you too much for their fancy designs. gibson electrics are another story...

    good luck to you!
