  1. Years ago. You want to really test your 'christian' friends. Ask them to recite the Beatitudes, and then explain what they mean. Modern 'christianity' is a club for people who are more politically active than religiously active.

  2. Jeanmarie:   You do know that versions of the Golden Rule predate Jesus by at least one thousand years and that have arisen independently in almost every culture throughout History.  Plato said it, Aristotle said it, it's in the ten commandments which obviously was in humanity's possession before the incarnation.  There are Native American version, Shinto versions, and Hindu versions.  I've collected several hundred.

Its sad that something said so often and so well is so little regarded usually by the people saying it the loudest.

However, that said, I do personally know two "bible" people, who, although they don't quote the Goldren rule, live it out each day.  I'm lucky to know them.  I will admit, they seem to be the exception rather than the rule.

  3. What's your point?

  4. Today at church-really.

You do know it was Jesus who said it right?

  6. Matthew 7:12, "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."

But let us not forget the two verse after this one:

    13) "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it."

    14) "Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."

  7. he who has the gold rules?

ROM 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

  8. It is my answer to the question "What is the morality you follow?"  How often is that asked?  I probably answer it once a week.  I try to live it every day.

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

  9. Not in  a very long time, now that you mention it.
