What airline were you flying?

Here's mine:

I fly alot and didn't mind airports, but now I hate them lol. My dad and I were flying to Atlanta Georgia, and from Atlanta to Fort Meyers FL. First of all Delta didn't contact us and tell us the take off time was changed, so we were late. They had to send our bags on a differant plane because it was too late to check in ours. They had to hold the plane for us and rushed us through security. Then because of bad weather we were on the plane for almost exactly 7 hours. 5 hours in the sky in a holding pattern (we almost ran out of fuel) and 2 hours sitting on the ground waiting for a gate to open up. Duh, we missed our flight to FL. Keep in mind this is at 11:00 at night and I'm only 12 years old, and my dad has bad scoliosis. They put us on a flight for the next day at 2:00 PM. They gave us vouchers for a taxi ride to and from the airport, a free night stay at a hotel, and a free meal. We stood outside in the freezing rain for 45 minutes, and when we finnaly got into a taxi, we found out the taxi's wouldn't take the vouchers. We walked around the airport for awhile (the Atlanta airport is huge and we got lost lol) So at 2:00 in the morning we went through security. We "slept" on the chairs. I didn't sleep. It was like a sleepover, only i was surrounded by my dad and lots of other unluky strangers lol and i was bored and tired and not hyper lol. All i could think about was the ice cream stand that didn't open till' 10:00 lol.

  1. I've never had an awful experience, and i fly tons. Once, my flight got cancelled because they couldnt start the engine (before this, the FA's were explaining how brand new the E90 jet was...air canada). Once, we had to reaturn to the airport after our a320 could not retract the landing gear. 4 years ago on an air canada zip plane, we got hit by lightening. I encountered extreme turbulence on an austrian arrows dash 8-400 last march. That was brutal.

  2. Hmmm, where to start, I picked this airline because when I checked the schedule it was the most direct, from Lexington, KY to Atlanta, GA and the to Orlando, the return trip was supposed to be the same schedule.

Well first of all I booked my flight well in advance 2 months at least, but the day before my flight I checked my ticket and the computer (delta.com) and my flight number was not on the schedule on the computer. I called the airline toll free number and they advised me that the flight I was originally was on, had be CANCELLED and that I was on a flight an hour earlier...now I had a problem, I am a time concious person who had made plans to arrive at the airport, one hour early for my flight originally. Had I not checked my schedule and the computer, the the nifty Delta plane I would be seeing taking off when I pulled up, would have been mine. Anyway, originally I was scheduled for a Boeing 737-200 to Atlanta, now I was on a ComAir, Bombardier Regional Jet to Cincinnati, OH...YES I HAD TO GO NORTH TO GO SOUTH.....SOMEONE EXPLAIN THAT ONE TO ME. Anyway,

    Lexington - Cincinnati

I made it to the airport for my new departure time, with the hour to spare like I planned and with the new security, everyone should as well. I had my confirmation number in hand to use the Kiosk at the terminal, this was nice I had to check one peice of luggage, so the person behind the counter came and took the luggage and tagged it and sent it on its merry way. Me, I got to go to security, which really was not that bad. When I got to the gate area, the lady behind the counter was a friend of mine, so that was nice, she told me all about the weather etc. Then we boarded the plane. The only nice thing on this leg of the flight was that the flight attendant was very attractive. The seat was cramped, the ride was rough, but again, the flight attendant was very attractive, so to me being a single male, that made the flight worth it.

    Cincinnati to Orlando

First of all, I made it to the Cincinnati airport in one peice, and when I was at the gate area, I noticed that a sign was illuminated stating that upgrades to first class were available, so I said what the heck 75 for an upgrade, I am there. I went to purchase my ticket upgrade and the man behind the counter said that my fare code was not the right one for the upgrade, so I would be stuck my my economy class ticket. I guess my money was not good enough for Delta that day. Anyway, as a commercial aviation fan, I know my style of planes, we were boarding a Boeing 757. From my past experiences these were nice planes, so I was happy...for a second anyway. When we boarded the plane I was in the very back seat, and I mean very back, but that was alright with me. When the safety video came on they did a very detailed explanation on the emergency procedures for a Boeing 777, so that was nice..well it would have been nice had I been on a triple 7. I was on a 757 remember. When I saw the flight attendants starting drink service, I put down my tray table, now yes, my mind wandered, I was looking out the window at the very nice view, when I felt something hit my arm...I looked it was a bag of trail mix, I asked the gentleman sitting next to me where this came from and he stated that the flight attendant threw it at me, so, not wanting my drink thrown at me I paid more attention now. When I got my drink I got a little plastic cup with a lot of ice and a little soda in it. We landed without incident, but when I was getting off the plane the flight attendant at the door and the pilot were in a catotonic state...they never even said good bye.

    Orlando to Cincinnati

I flew a regional jet this leg of the flight...YES, a regional jet, what is up with that, an 1.5 hour flight down turned into a cramped three hour flight back, no meals, no in flight entertainment, this sucks

    Cincinnati to Lexington,

    Same as Orlando to Cincinnati.

In closing if you need to fly to Florida, stop off at JFK in New York and fly JETBLUE
