Basically I want to know about your worst experience ever in a restaurant, and what you did about it.

(I work at a restaurant and I've seen some pretty crazy things, I'm just wondering if anyone else has any stories.?)

  1. Well, I used to be a server so I see things from both sides so I know what servers are going through. I think servers and former servers are either the worst critic because they know things that could be done to make it SO much better or they are very understanding.

From a customers point of view...This happened a few years ago. I was w/ my boyfriend. We were a two top. She had our party and a big party of maybe 20 people. The 20 top was done. All they were doing was drinking. She kept going back to them making sure they have everything they needed, and kept on whizzing by us. We had to go up to the bartender and ask for refills on our soda. She asked us how our pizza was 10 minutes after we finished it. In the meantime checking back the entire time of course on the 20 top.

I can understand having a 20 top.  But they were all done except for drinking. But, we were a 2 top and all we had was a pizza and two drinks. It wasn't like we were even a complicated order.

Now, as a server the worst I ever did was when I was working at Pizza Hut. I had a tray w/ a pitcher of water and some glasses. I lost the balance of the tray the the pitcher of water went all over this kid who was like 6 or 7.

The best part though was the mom was a waitress and she told me she did a lot worse and was not angry at all and helped us clean everything too!

  2. this isn't a very interesting one, but it still sucked, haha - i went to a friendly's once where we were seated, ordered our food, and then basically didn't hear from the waitress again for over an hour. we finally got our food, after asking her about it 3 or 4 times, in about 90 minutes, and the restaurant wasn't even that crowded. i think we may have gotten a certain percentage off our bill, but i still never went back to that friendly's...

  3. I found a fly on my drink once and talked to the manager, he then didn't charge us for our meals.

  4. the waitress vomited on my date.

she was hammered drunk and came to work, and she was taking our order, and then by the time i could react, all i could smell was Jack Daniels.

the girl was fired, and we were given two $100 gift certificates for the restaurant.

  5. Ordered coke and got pepsi.

  6. I'm a waitress, so when I go out to eat, I pay attention!

A few years ago, my husband and I went out to eat, and it was while we were away for the weekend. The waitress took our order, but never came back. After about 15 minutes, I asked another waitress for our salads (we ordered dinners), and the other waitress brought them. Then our dinners came about two minutes later from our waitress. Then the potatoes were cold, and I said something to her, and she said "We're ready to close and it's not my problem". I asked her to microwave them, and she said "Don't give me an attitude" and I ripped. I swear, my husband had to literally hold me back! Regardless, she never came back to the table and he had to go pay.

YOU NEVER tell the customer that they have an attitude!!!!

When we got home, I wrote the owner a letter, and he sent me a letter back, apologizing, along with a gift certificate. We never used the certificate, but we do go there and that waitress isn't there. So obviously we weren't the only ones she had problems with.

But I did reem her out when she said that to me. But that does have to be my worst experience dining out. Being a waitress, my worst experience would be dropping a tray of dinners, but it happens!

  7. Not being served! My Czech boyfriend and I were in Poland and the guy would not serve us.....we left after waiting 40 minutes sitting at the table

  8. I caused a huge accident in a restaurant.

    I tripped a waitress (accidentally)

While she was holding a birthday cake in her hands!

She fell face first, but i guess it's a good thing the cake

    broke her fall!

I blamed everything on my cousin and then

I got up went 2 the bathroom and laughed until i was red.

When i came back i apologized to the waitress

And to my cousin for blaming everything on him.

Ohh and to the person whom the cake was for
