  1. Bumpus Jones

Career record: 2 wins, 4 losses, and a 7.99 ERA

    Others:

Bobo Holloman: 3 wins, 7 losses.

Ken Johnson.  91 wins 106 losses.  He was so bad he even lost the game in which he threw the no-hitter.

Mike Warren: 9 wins, 13 losses, 5.06 ERA

Don Black: 34 wins, 55 losses

Charlie Robertson: 49 wins, 80 losses (threw a perfect game)

Bud Smith: 7 wins, 8 losses (change the letters in his name to spell DUMB SHlT)

Jose Jimenez: 24 wins 44 losses.

  2. not only did he throw a no-hitter but his was a perfect game for the Indians.  As a Ranger Len Barker threw a pitch on TOP of the screen behind home plate.  He may not be the worst to throw a no hitter, but definitely the worst to retire all 27 batters in a row.

  3. Bud Smith- St. Louis Cardinals

He threw a no-hitter in 2001. His career stats ended up like this:

    24 games started, 7-8, 81 K's, 4.95 ERA

That has to be the luckiest no-hitter of all-time.

  4. Barry Zito. He's 7-16. He probably could throw a no-hitter but still end up losing the game by 15 runs. I've looked up his stats. He only gives up 4-5 hits per 9 innings but it's those people he walks that hurts him. 10-12 batters walked....a game. Plus at least a couple people hit by pitch. If he just be brave and pitch to the batter, his record wouldn't be so bad.

  5. Buchholz...  Hands down!  The dude sucks!

  6. jose jimenez

  7. I'd say Kent Mercker for the Braves. Total bum. Chris Bosio also threw a no no. 15 minutes of fame baby!!!!

  8. Clay Buckholtz

  9. I call it a tie between Bobo Holloman and Clay Buchholz. Similar records, similar ERAs.

So, it all depends on what Clay does with the rest of his career.

  10. Hideo Nomo

  11. Alva "Bobo" Holloman

    Stats

    Win Loss Record: 3-7

    ERA: 5.23

    K's 25

Played from April 18th to July 19th 1953

EDIT: Clay Buchholz has been bad but he has a huge future ahead of him. Holloman pitched a couple of months while Buchholz is still developing. Stop hating on him while he develops. What happens if he becomes an Ace? He definitely won't be considered the worst pitcher to throw a no-hitter.

  12. Dreaded Phoenix has it right. It's Big Bobo ...Bucholtz has a lot of career ahead of him. Bobo's "career" was pretty much over in his next start.

  13. I agree with Danny.

Being from Boston, I immediately thought of Clay Buchholz. This guy started off bad this year, then began to pitch well, and went right back to being a wounded duck fluttering around with a broken wing, never to fly again. My name for this guy is Clay Suckholz because while the no-hitter was last season, this season has been like a 1969 Red Ford Mustang Convertible that began life as a great American dream machine (last years Buchholz), and then ran into the back of a truck and shattered into a thousand little pieces (this years Suckholz). It got so bad for this guy, he was sent not to the Triple A team, but down to the Double A team. Now that's ugly.

  14. Clay Buchholz. Sure it was last year, but look at his stats now.

    W-L: 2-9

    ERA: 6.75

    IP: 76

Hits: 93 (Terrible considering his IP)
