  1. I am surprised they kept racing her when she was doing so poorly. But then they do say the owner does this as a hobby and not a business. I have to wonder if she is happy and sound. Not every horse is cut out for the race track, either, great pedigree or not.  Well, maybe she and the Green Monkey can commiserate together someday!

  2. they had to feed that horse and train him for many years and no

    return

    beats the glue factory   poor inept creature

  3. wow, thats a bad record! but my hat is off to the owners and trainers that kept her out there! thats how it should be. they shouldnt ever kill off horses just because they arent the fastest. there are many other things out there for them to do. im sure this mare will make somebody a wonderfulful pet. and im glad they are retireing her. there is a very very high perpcentage of TB that just do not "cut it" on the track. and its great that they didnt put this one down.

  4. I hope the horse enjoys the workouts and the training.  Horses need something to do, and there's nothing wrong with running a horse often.  It's not like he's doing it for the money.  If he was doing it just to get this "worst racehorse ever" record, well that's wrong.

    But still, nowadays it is all too common for a horse to run less than 30 times in his/her career before retiring to stud or broodmare duties.

    Maybe not this particular horse, but racing needs more owners and trainers to keep their horses racing longer.

    30 years ago, racehorses ran once a week.  Now they run once a month.  Too much fragility has been bred in.  This 9 year old mare is obviously a sound horse, albeit not a fast one.

  5. I think it would have been hilarious if she had won that 128th race... just out of spite...  they forced her to do something she didn't like for 9 years... she should have chosen to win that day just to deny the connections the recognition.

    At what point do you think they decided to go for this title...  I mean, if I had a 4 year old filly who still hadn't won a race, I'd be selling her to the first person I found who wanted a nice hunter jumper or dressage TB or whatever.  I can't believe they looked at the record and looked at the horse and thought 'gee, she's half way to being the losing-est horse in history, lets just spend another 5 years and all the money it costs to keep her in training so that she can be the official worst racehorse ever.'  Maybe they're just not very good with money... it seems to me that selling her as a pet would make a lot more sense than breeding her...  I don't care what her pedigree is, there's no way that I would ever breed a horse that couldn't win a race in 9 years...  no one is going to buy the foals...  it's just silly.

  6. not all are born to be champs

  7. i read that earlier and was quite amazed.....

    it was hoorible when that guy said to kill her. maybe her real talent is for something else other than racing. no horse deserves to die if they cant win any race.

    and why would they want to bredd her also??

  8. im sorry,what were the owners ect thinking? she ran like 128 somthing races,and didnt win any of them.

    She really should have been removed from racing a long time ago...

  9. Not only should this racehorse have been retired a long time ago; her trainer should have been fired a long time ago.

    This borders on abuse.
