  1. Shifting in to reverse while still moving forward.


  2. All the first three, plus changing gear going round a corner, always change to the lower gear you will need after finishing the turn BEFORE you start to go round the corner.

    Changing to a lower gear at too high a speed for that gear, that will over rev the engine and stress the gearbox.

  3. Over-revving the engine...

  4. Slamming through the gears, you can bend the shift forks. Grinding the gears is also not good. And to add slipping the clutch and not letting it out fast enough, it will burn up the clutch and cause excessive wear.

  5. Forget to use your clutch....
