Question:

Worth it to wait for LCD 120 HZ to drop in price?

So just when I was finally ready to buy a new tv, I see a new upcoming technology is out. 120 HZ refresh rate for LCD TV's. Is this technology worth waiting for (i.e. waiting for the price to drop)? Or is it not that much of a difference and I should just go with the current standard of 60 HZ.

Don't know if it matters, but I will be buying a 37" 1080P. I sit around 8 feet away.

Thanks!

(Note: I know if you wait something new and better will always come out and you can wait forever. I just want to know if this is something worth waiting for. Thx)

  1. From everything I have read and personally observed, it's well worth waiting for.  This is especially true if you watch sports with fast-moving action because there's a tendency towards smearing with 60 Hz sets currently.

This is exactly what I'm waiting for; by this summer all of the sets that were exhibited at winter CES should be on the shelves and virtually all of them feature 120 Hz refresh rate (also called frame rate).

By the way - the major manufacturers are all working on 240 Hz models for 2009 or 2010.
