Can anyone tell me what the worth of a 1974 "S" uncirculated Silver Dollar is? It is in a sealed clear plastic, along with a blue plastic piece the same size that says: "EISENHOWER uncirculated silver dollar" and It has an eagle clutching the olive branch......

And the clear package says " Package by UNITED STATES MINT"

Can anyone tell me what this is worth?

  1. 1974-S (San Francisco) Eisenhower Dollar valued at:

    Mint State 63: $7.50

    Proof 65: $14.00

  2. The 1974-S in the blue pack is a clad silver coin. It has .3167 oz of pure silver. Mintage was 1,900,156 with is not that large. The problem with the Ike dollars now is that there are few people collecting the series at least now. Sooner or later people will find it is not that easy to put a set together and prices will go up. My advice hold on to it for a while. They do sell for $7-$12. Dealers pay much less.

  3. According to the "Guide Book of United States Coins" (2009), a dealer would likely charge around $9 (but he'd buy it for much less).  There were only 1.9 million of these minted, fewer than any "Ike" year but 1973, so it seems to me the value should be going up as they get older.  Hang onto it if you can.
