Worth the wait for 80 gig ps3?

I know the new 80 gig ps3 is coming out in September for 400 bucks but is the extra 40 gigs really necessary and are there any other changes.

Yeah, I would definetely wait until the price drop and the new release, but if you truly cannot wait, get the MGS4 bundle for $500. The 40 extra gigs really is necessary if you want to download and keep a lot of demos/videos, but if you are willing to delete them after some use, the 40 gig should be enough.

I just bought a new 1080p LCD this Wednesday. I've been dying to get a PS3 for the blu-ray, the games are a plus. But I'm gonna wait till the 80 gig PS3 price drops. I hope it does come out in Aug. like the previous poster said.

It comes out August 27th.  Keep in mind this version of the PS3 will not be able to play PS2 games.  For me its worth the wait.  I dont need backwards compatibility and I'm not interested in MGS4.

I think it is worth the wait if it soon to be released where you are never can have too much space
