  1. Second name? proberly Albert, Henry or Charles but the surname should be Windsor thanks to Queen Victoria

  2. Actually, Queen Victoria's surname was Saxe-Gotheburg (sp?)  as was Edward VII.  George V changed it to Windsor (after the castle the Royal family calls home) because S-G was too germanic sounding (Well, it came from Albert, after all, who was a german prince) and during WWI, there was much mistrust of the Germans and anyone with German names.  George changed it.

And, interestingly, it ought to follow Prince Philip's name...wonder why it doesn't?

  3. actually William goes by William Wales. The family name is Winsor because they changed it due to it use to be a German name and they didn't want any to sound German because of Hitler.   Prince Phillip's surname is Mountbatten.  Prince Phillip is not the head of the family Queen Elizabeth is so that is why it did not change to his name.

  4. William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales is William's name. Harry's is Henry Charles Albert David of Wales, but he has been known as "Harry,"since birth.

The surname,or last name that the boys may use is Mountbatten-Windsor,but William will most likely use The Royal House of Windsor, when his turn to reign comes.Right now,the boys use their royal house branch name of Wales as their identifying moniker.Try visiting http://www.royal.gov/uk and click on "Royal Family" and then "Royal Family name" for a longer explanation for the surnames. There are also mini-biographies available, too.

  5. Same as the rest of the royal family - Windsor.

  6. windsor

  7. Mountbatten-Windsor

  8. Prince William of Wales was born as William Arthur Philip Louis Mountbatten-Windsor on 21 June 1982

Prince Henry of Wales "Prince Harry" was born as Henry Charles Albert David Mountbatten-Windsor on 15 September 1985

Mountbatten-Windsor is the official surname of the royal family. Before the Queen's marriage to Prince Philip, her surname was Windsor, the english version of her German heritage "Wettin" a branch from the German royal house of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg line of the House of Oldenburg.

The current royal house is House of Windsor, however, when Prince Charles is crowned King, he will change it to the House of Mountbatten-Windsor.

  9. Mountbatten  ( originally Battenburg )  -  It was changed to Windsor because the others showed the Germanic origins.

  10. It's a double barreled name:

    Pompousse-Gitte

  11. Minreva is right

  12. Officially, William's would be Windsor (as an heir-apparent to the throne) and Harry's would be Mountbatten-Windsor (as a member of the royal family not expected to inherit the throne).  As a practical matter, both have used "Wales" (as in "Prince of Wales", their father's title) when they've needed to use a last name.

  13. Harry's second name is Hewitt and Willie's is Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.

  14. windsor!

  15. Windsor.
