Would America vote a muslim candidate as president?

I saw on the news that some americans(mostly white) saying they wouldn't vote for Obama coz he is a muslim.(he isn't as far as i know)

Anyways Would you vote for a muslim candidate why or why not?

Sure, as long as s/he is moderate in his/her beliefs.  But that goes for any religion, not just Muslim.  Fundamentalists of ANY faith scare me!

Religion of a candidate does not matter as long as they don't try and force in on me, we're good.

it's possible.  we do have at least one muslim in congress.  i think he's pretty well liked.

If he were a practicing muslim with the head gear and all the outter appearances of a foreigner, no. We like our candidates to look recognizable.The religion should not matter, but we are a nation of conceptual Christians and jews, so I doubt he could win.

Absolutely not.  Why?  Because I do not agree with what Islam teaches.  Tolerance and acceptance are two different things.  I may have to tolerate the Islamic faith, but I do not have to accept what it teaches.  I would not want an American president, who has been influenced by the teachings of Islam.  I cannot state it more plainly than that.
