If we were forced to READ our news and form our opinions based on FACTS, would we be better off than just listening to mindless pundits report political gossip all day long? Sean Hannity and Wolf Blitzer come to mind.

  1. Sean Annuity is not a news reporter.  He is a talk show host.  Wolf claims to be a reporter.

Some newspapers are so biased that they are losing favor with customers.  The New York times is losing faster than they can count.  The safest thing to do is examine all sources of news coverage and weigh the facts.

  2. Americans would be smarter if they didnt pay attention to any of the major news networks

    Search outside for the truth.

  3. Americans would be a lot more informed by getting their information from a variety of credible news outlets, be it print, television, radio, or electronic media instead of relying on just one single, often biased, source (such is the case with Faux News junkies).   Only then would the sheeple be able to make a truly informed, impartial decision about certain issues and/or political figureheads.  Simply banning a form of media only makes it even more appealing (basic human nature).

  4. You have a solid point ....

  5. Excellent question unfortunately I'm too busy watching reruns of Happy Days to continue my answer.

  6. Perhaps but sadly the newspapers aren't exactly free of slant any longer and even worse when comedian Jon Stewart is considered one of the most trusted "journalist" in the U.S. getting rid of cable news wouldn't help in a bit.

  7. A critical thinker take info from a variety of sources.  Because you see it on the cable (or network) news or read it doesn't make it a fact, without skeptical comparison.

The important thing is to separate opinions from facts.

  8. They are also heard and seen around the world. Here in Vietnam, we get CNN and BBC, as well as Bloomberg, but Fox News is banned. I took a vacation in the Philippines a few months ago and couldn't get enough Fox News!

  9. I believe we would at least know more of the facts.

I think Americans are smart but misinformed!

  10.   We need to outlaw the democrat media (NBC, ABC, CBS and NBC) because they do not report the news. We need real news like FOX so that people in the US hear the truth instead of democrat falsehoods.

  11. just try to remember that there r many ways to see things and usually things r not black or white they r grey. meaning everybody is wright the problem is who has the power to protect and advertise his interests. the truth always is on the side of the winner

  12. I see where you are coming from.  The only problem I have with that is how do I know I can trust the journalists I'm reading?  I have that problem everyday when I read The New York Times, i.e. Jason Blair.

  13. Man I believe your on too something.I agree,I think we should be forced too read if we wanted to know the news.
