Would Barry Bonds be a good fit with the Yankees?

With Matsui and Posada possibly done for the season there are reports that the team is considering going after Bonds. Assuming Bonds actually has something left would this be a good move for the Yankees or would they be creating a bigger problem for themselves?

  1. Yeah, Bonds, Matsui, Damon, Giambi, and Sexson can all split time at DH.

  2. h**l NO, h**l NO AND AGAIN h**l NO

the Yankees don't need more media attention they get enough , and Bonds will be a bad distraction

  3. Bonds, a good fit for the Yankees?

    No.

    He'd be a PERFECT fit.

    Think about it.

  4. I don't think he would be such a good fit. With all their issues elsewhere (rotation) they would do better standing pat or at the very least looking for a starter.

  5. Perfect fit.  The fans have looked passed steroids twice already, right?

  6. Absolutely not. But, they deserve him in Philadelpia.

  7. Barry Bonds is not a good fit for "Baseball".  It's important that all teams show signs of credibility by not signing this one time steroid user.  I'm not a Yankee fan but I respect that franchise for what it has done for baseball.  I know Clemens and Pettitte have been connected with this same problem but I can't imagine the Yankees getting into more controversy by bringing this baggage to the Bronx.

  8. barry would be a great fit on almost all teams but nobody is willing to take on his attitude. if you ask me it's a shame to the fans not to see what one of the so called best can do but last time i checked the game is about the owners and not the fans.

  9. barry would not be a good fit, but then the yankees may sign him anyway, and give yankee haters everywhere another reason to hate them--as if they need another reason, lol.

  10. Perfect Fit!

    -constant controversies

    -bad attitude

    -arrogance

    He'll fit right in.

  11. Sadly he is a great fit for the yankees....they need his type of player and his type of bat...does that mean they will get him? Definetly not....even the yankees believe that is way to much baggage and yankees fans are the toughest fans out there....so with that my final verdict is that he is a good fit hitting wise but with the team overall no he is not.

  12. Yes. He could eat up one of the current holes in the corner of the outfield and the Yankees can pay him whatever he watns (even though he said he'd play for the league min. which is around $450,000 ----boo hoo).

They'll get steroid chants but no more than the A-ROID chants in Boston.

It might be a good fit, unless it's an unwritten (but loudly spoken) rule that no one in the MLB is allowed to sign him...

  13. Yes. And as a Rays fan that scares me. I wish they would offer for Bonds to play DH.

  14. Yes.  They need a hitter, and the best one of all time is willing to play for peanuts.  Just because he doesn't care for the media shouldn't keep him from playing.

  15. The thought of Bonds between Jeter and A-Rod is the most scary thought in baseball but not when you have Jonny Damon, Giambi, Richi Sexon and injured posada fighting for DH  not gonna happen.

  16. no.

bonds would only be a good DH and they already have one of them

  17. The Yankees dont accept cheaters.

  18. barry bonds does not belong on a baseball field, none the less on the Yankees. i'm in no way a Yankee fan, but i wouldn't want that for the Yankees. they already have to deal with the negative press that surrounded clemens, and currently surronds A-Rod. Bonds would contribute nothing positive.

  19. no. u no how people in new york are about new players remember johnny damon.

  20. Well he's too old, and he's a cheater, so I think he'd be right at home with the Yanks.
