  1. If you were strong enough to use the techniques proerly they would work.  There anatomy is very simular to ours.  The only problem would be the obvious strength difference which would make it impossible to perform any BJJ technique properly.  Make a rear naked choke would be possible because it only takes a few seconds to K.O. someone if applied properly and with force.  Remember, a BJJ choke does not cut of the supply of air to the body which is a common misunderstanding.  A choke cuts off the blood supply to the brain which prevents the brain from getting O2 which causes the person (or gorilla) to pass out.  It only takes a few seconds of no blood flow to make someone to pass out.  A gorilla has so thick and strong neck muscles though, I dont think you could choke a gorilla out.  A smaller primate though, it is a possibility.  That is obviously if the primate does not know its in a fight.  If the primate knows you are attacking it and it is fighting you, other then maybe the smallest primates in the world (like the little monkey in the pirate movies with Jonny Depp), you would have no chance.

  2. dan the beast severn would lay and pray it to death,

lyoto machida would be too elusive ,then use the dim mak

fedor would ground and pound it to death

tito would use underhanded tactics like squeezing the gorillas

    balls

    wanderlai would just outstrike it,

    im sure theres more ,

so yes but u would have to be an ELITE human

probably a mere 50 mortals , the rest of us would be raped.

  3. Why don't you go to the zoo and climb in with one. At least this would keep you from breeding(assuming you havn't already found a women who is attracted to dimwitedness) and passing your ignorence of facts on. Chimps and orangutangs are much stronger than humans, thats a scientific fact, and a gorrilla wouldn't even work up a sweat tearing you limb form limb. Bob Sapp or any other human on the planet could not, unarmed, defeat a gorrilla..

  4. First thing first captive or wild. Wild no f@*king chance. Captive I could say no f@*king chance a gorilla would tear you limb from limb and not think twice even a smaller monkey would be more of a match for anyone because of agility and flexability.  An arm bar wouldn't work as well because of it and then you have to worry about the little F*@ker bitting you.

  5. Aside from the fact that gorillas have been seen operating their 400 pound bodies with gusto. Bending 3" iron bars without breaking a sweat etc.

The anatomy of a gorilla and it's flexibility wouldn't lend it's self to traditional Brazilian ju-jitsu designed for humans. For instance: the mounted position, the curvature and build of a gorilla would make it to where he wouldn't even have to bridge (this is assuming you were a fit 400 pound man and it would even matter if you got him in this dominant position)

then take the rear naked choke. Gorillas can reach the small of their backs over their shoulders. They could conceivably just reach behind themselves and choke you out with one hand, if they were gentle and didn't decide to just rip your head off.

A nice sharp 8 foot spear you could make in 10 minutes would kill more gorillas than you could ever hope to kill in 100 years of Ju-jitsu training.

  6. No.  Unarmed, you cannot defeat a full grown gorilla.  Not even possible.

  7. Orang-utans and chimps are NOT weaker than humans; in a rage, female chimps can pull 800 lbs with ease.  And they are smaller than the males, plus chimp testosterone doesn't flow in their veins either.  In Africa, wild chimpanzees, males in a rage, have been known to send entire villages fleeing in panic.  Although comical, and used for clown tricks in the western world, wild chimps are VERY dangerous.  So are orang-utans.

Would BJJ work against a gorilla?  Sure; if it was Bob Sapp, or "the refrigarator," or someone hoped up on steroids applying a rear naked choke, sure.  It WOULD work, BUT, said BJJ exponent, would need to be a strongman able to hold two cars going down hill, able to flip tires AND hoped up on artificial adrenaline.

Alright seriously though?  The answer is no, regarding gorillas, organ-utans, and chimpanzees, reason being buddy, that ALL PRIMATES are natural grapplers.  All of them.  The great apes are BORN with a knowledge of "brazilian jiu jitsu."  Its instinctive to them.  The reason grappling has so dominated the MMA scene, and why strict grapplers hold a better win reccord than strikers, is because, being primates themselves if you believe in that sort of thing, human beings are merely getting in touch with primitive instincts when they grapple.

Why don't you do this; go to youtube, and then, open two windows, separate windows no tabbing.  Then, in one windo's search engine search "high school wrestling."  In another search "gorillas fighting."  Next, play both videos side by side and see for yourself what I mean.  The answer is a resounding no, because aside from being physically stronger, gorillas have better, ah..... "technique" I guess.

    peace out.

  8. Funny you should ask that....when I was younger I was trianing with Hoyte Gracie in south america and we used to go into the jungle in Brazil for days on end to take on full grown wild gorillas. It was a great way to train for upcoming matches. You can also use it on almost any wild animals. I used Jujitsu to force a see turtle into submission, also a goose, a camel, a north american bison

  9. yes .jae kim fought a tiger to death.and orangatangs and chimps are much stronger than humans.

  10. lmfo... if you think of having you arm ripped off, and being beaten to death with that arm as some mad jiu-jitsu skills... then sure lol.

  11. Katana17 - to answer your question I'd like to quote cartoonist Jim Davis and say "Sheboygan".

Personally I'm more worried about the guy who says to go make a spear.  Not because I think anybody will, but suggesting a mass killing when the animal is already endangered from poaching and loss of habitat.

    To the asker:

Why BJJ and MMA (which is not even a style technically)?  Do you expect about kung fu, karate, or TKD to work better against a charging silverback?

  12. its only good in competition not on the street or let alone gorillas geez
