I'm trying to build my own PC and I've read through all these websites and they keep saying that tigerdirect.com would be the best place to buy computer parts but that website is american and I live in Ireland so could someone tell me if I buy parts from tigerdirect.com or any other american store would the computer parts work here in Ireland? I'm really much new to all this building your own computer stuff.

  1. Of course they will. All components work at the same voltage and power. They would have to otherwise how would computers work the same all over the world. The only thing that has to be correct is your PCU's supply from the mains in terms of Voltage and Hz and cycle

  2. Of course

  3. They would, but why would you want to be ordering from America? Many don’t ship to Europe and I would have thought the shipping costs would be huge.

I’ve put a list of UK shops I have used below. Take a look and judge for yourself. They often offer free shipping over a certain price.

  4. yep, once inside the computer the voltage is standard throughout the world.

The one part you nee to make sure you get right for your region possibly is the PSU (power supply unit) but other than that you will be fine.
