Would DMSO help plant cells absorb organic and inorganic nutrients?

Question

Does DMSO increase the permeability of plant cell walls as it does in animals? I'm wondering if using a little when I foliar feed my plants will help the plants absorb nutrients. These are not food plants and I'm using non-burning organic nutrients (humates, seaweed extract), not plain fertilizer.
