Would Destin Fl be a good family vacation spot?

I would like to go there the first week in July i have 2 kids 12 & 9. I'm trying to avoid the whole "spring breakers" thing. also are there any beach houses there that can be rented? any opinions would be great. thank you.

Destin is a wonderful beach community... Your family will love the beautiful beaches with the sugar white sands. It's Florida and a great deal to do, but still a little old Florida mixed in too.

That's probably my most favorite beach in the world, and I have seen a lot of beaches in my life... Go and enjoy... you will not regret this destination!

Destin is a beautiful area, but it will be really, really hot in July. If that's what you're looking for. There won't be any spring breakers. It will be summer breakers...

There are some beach house, but mostly there are a vast amount of high rise condos. The hurricanes have wiped out most of the housing rentals. That property is too valuable to just have one house on it.

Destin has great restaurants and beautiful beaches. Fly into Pensacola, rent a car and drive down through Ft Walton into Destin.

The oysters are delicious, as is the amberjack. Lots to do and all kinds of day trips to take. Head down to Panama City Beach and check out the action there. Then keep on going down to Appalachacola, the Oyster Capital of the World. Quaint little town with a beautiful state park that is virtually deserted. Pack a lunch and enjoy the solitude.

Yes it would be a good place to visit....July may be very warm

It is right on the beach....

  suggest that you google Destin  and look for place to stay...may be much much cheaper to not be right on the beach, but to walk over to beach....anyway kids like a hotel with a kids pool as much as the beach.
