if he "won" a $250,000.00 award from a foundation run by Cindy McCain first?

In 2004, Hansen threw his support towards John Kerry right after he recieved a cool "award" of $250,000.00 from the Heinz foundation.

Is this just a standard quid pro quo that happens durring a political campaign? Or should Hansen hold out for more?

  1. Your bribery claims are usupported and wrong.  Resorting to slander is stooping very low, even by gelatinous standards.

For the record, Hansen is politically moderate to conservative.  But he will probably support Obama because he's stronger on global warming than McCain.

  2. God...politics, and money/favors (that's only what you know about). What would ever make a person think there could be a connection? I'm just sad because there's no real political leader to vote for. Looks like another libertarian check off for me.

  3. No.  He will support Obama because he is an obvious loyal democrat and fellow leftist.  He would have supported Kerry too (unless it was Nader) but perhaps he should have admitted a conflict of interest.

  4. Birds of a feather stick together. As you can see by his track record Hansen leans to the left. This is what is called a Yellow Dog Democrat (which my grandfather is). This means that even if the Candidate was a yellow dog, he would vote for him.

  5. No, because he'll support Obama, who's better  on the issue, regardless of money.

The fact that Hansen supported Kerry is because nothing else made sense.  Kerry was FAR more likely to propose serious action on global warming that the oil man, Bush.  The issue is FAR more important to Hansen than money.

The same is true now.  Hansen surely thinks McCain. who acknowledges the reality of man made global warming, and is proposing action, is decent on the issue.

But Obama would surely lead more strongly to take decisive action.
