Would Ethiopia be in a better situation now if it had been colonized?

Ethiopia was once a great country but now it has turned into a pitiful place..known for all the wrong reasons..its Emperor was overthrown to be taken over by a murderous dictator, it became the most famine ridden country on earth and now to top it all of, it has one of the highest Aids rates in the world.

Its full of poverty and the current goverment is corrupt.

Forty years ago it was the most prosperous country of Africa and it had a future, now It has become a living h**l.

It is also the only country in Africa that has never been colonized..is there a connection? Would it have been better off if it had been, as all other african countries that were colonized seem to be growing with bright futures. Thank you.

After the Europeans started taking over the Continent of Africa, it has become a living h**l.  The whole nation was prospering until it was invaded by the Europeans.  Now it has been stripped of all its' values, everything has been taken away from them.  They are at the mercy of God right now.  The Europeans  has control over  almost all of  the African nations.  They even have control over the so call African leaders.  That's why so many of the same nationalities are fighting and killing each other.  They are severely brain washed by the Europeans.  Ethiopia and similar nations of Africa is still holding on to their dignity.  Yes, they can prosper if the Europeans would get the h**l out of their country and stop using the Continent  for their own personal gain.  They can also prosper if they bow down to you know who.

It is possible that Colonization would have helped, however if you compare Ethiopia to other Sub-Sarahan African Countries that have been Colonized it actually is better in many cases. Regions like Mali, Niger, the Dar-fur, and Somalia are some of the least developed countries in the world. Sudan  has done well where is has developed its oil but it is an exception in the region.

I thought they were colonized by Italy at one time or another... I know they kicked them out...

Why is it that racially minded people always talk about Africa ?  

I noticed they never focus on Asia.  

Is that because Asia is out performing them ?
