  1. Triple A is correct. Kudos! The meat would definitely dry up: into a jerky-like state due to lack of oxygen. Keep in mind there may not be as much bacteria in space, but there's also a lot of necessary condiments space is  missing. Also, it really depends on what you're saying. If you mean in SPACE, then definitely yes, the food would dry up if not even burst. But in a space shuttle, it's kindof the same thing as in your normal kitchen. Astronauts use food from awkward packagements and containers as of a way to keep the food from flying around and the food itself pressured inside. In the space shuttle, I'm aware the food enviornment would be the same as that of being on earth.

  2. Bacteria can not stay viable in the bitter cold and vaccume of space. Also the deep freeze that space is would keep food from spoiling.

  3. Since in Space theres no gravity...You should always soak your food in a container of water coz without gravity...The water in your food would be separated from your food.

  4. Since almost all food is mostly fluid then space would be bad for food.It would dry out almost instantly and be un edible.

  5. well there is no oxygen but most likely it would not hold up under the pressure force to remain in its original state

  6. it'd probably freeze dry pretty quickly.

then be absolutely dry jerky forever.

  7. well, yeah it will go bad. there are no bacteria in space. right! but there are bacteria in the food. there is no oxygen in vacuum. but there are bubbles of air trapped in the food. so it will go bad.

  8. It would eventually become inedible.

  9. it would go 'bad' eventually, but the vacuum of space would work to preserving it a h**l of a lot longer then we do on earth (minus using a vacuum storage container/bag and then freezing it)

  10. The question is if you mean in space in a space shuttle or in space as in the void. In a space shuttle food can go bad as bacteria is not the only cause of spoilage. For example fruit will spoil due to the natural break-drown of cells releasing gasses causing the fruit to change colors and become mushy and gross. In the void of space food would kinda splatter all over the place and break down instantly. However, it depends on what you are looking at.

  11. well, this is kind of one of those unanswerable questions....

if you were bringing the food from Earth, it would already have been exposed to bacteria, so it is subject to decay.  that is why they bring "space food" with them.. everything is dehydrated and likely sterilized.  but if you are asking if food grown in space would go bad, then i would also have to say yes, because if you were able to grow food in space (ie on another planet), there would inevitably be bacteria (if life can survive, then bacteria would definitely be around too).  if you were raising animals in space for food, you would also have bacterial exposure, because all animals are dependent on bacteria for survival

  12. why, planning to go to space anytime soon? JK! I would think it would go bad after awhile, maybe not as fast as it would on earth.

  13. no

  14. No it will never go bad because of the impresence of microorganisms

  15. the powder stuff would probably last long enough to seem like it never went bad.

  16. it would fly away
