Question:

Would Henman have folded like origami in the tennis yesterday?

I'm convinced he would have folded due to the fact he's never had to fight for anything in his life. What do you think?

I also can't believe people aren't supporting Murray because he's no Henman, this strikes me as odd because he is already better than Henman. Is it because the british public only like to support a loser?

Surely you should be supporting any british player in any sport

  1. No because Gasquet would have done all the folding for him. Murray didn't raise his game, Gasquet completely went after match point. It's been said Gasquet has issues between the ears and he proved that yesterday.

You seem to be forgetting Henman made four Wimbledon semi's and lost to the eventual winner on all four times. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Loser.

  2. No, I don't think so.  Henman played many tough matches at Wimbledon and came through.  Last night's match was an absolute cracker though, and I can't believe Murray came back the way he did - what a player!!!!

I hope Andy Murray manages to win round those who seem to dislike him so intensely, as at some point he is going to be a great champion.

  3. Loser? I believe the term is underdog..

Henman was a great tennis player who was hampered by the British publics high expectations. I mean, how could anyone expect him to perform with the weight of a whole nation on top of him?

One of the reasons we loved him so much was simply because he was a true Englishman. Straight out of a Richard Curtiss script. A very likeable, self depricating, floppy haired twit. Unfortunatly, while Murray may prove to be a superior tennis player, he will never posses the charisma that Henman did.

  4. Your question is very negative. Thought I'd point that out before I continue.

I'd also have to say that tennis players can be passionate at times and then crumble under pressure. It happened to Henman plenty of times, but does that mean he's a wimp? Prbbly not, since I'd wager that if you or I played him, then we'd lose.

If you are going to make comments on patriotism or supporting one's player, here's a rule of thumb: be quick to praise, slow to criticize.

    And finally:

    RESPECT THE GAME

    G'day sir!

  5. Henman would have folded like an umbrella.

  6. Absolutely!
