Would I Fit in in Japan?

I'm going to be going to Japan (not sure which cities) for an exchange program next summer, when I'm 15, and I'm afraid that I wouldn't be able to fit in or find clothes in Japan if I ever went shopping, because thier sizes are a lot smaller.. Either I wouldn't be able to find clothes, or I'd look really weird walking out of a store with a XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXL lol.

I have a friend from Japan, but shes sooo tiiny!! She's my height, but she's like 100pounds. My mom took a picture of us, and I looked like a beached whale compared to her. @_@

It's weird though. I'm african american, and I'm kinda funny shaped lawl

Here's a description, if that'll help :

My Chest is like 38in.

My waist is 25in. From the front, its only 10in. wide at the smallest part, and 13in. wide at the largest.

Then my hips are like 37 lol, but only 15in. wide in the front .____.

And I wear an 8.5 in shoes, so its like COME ON NOW, HAVEN'T I SUFFERED ENOUGH?! lol

Then im only 5'2 so its like WTF HAPPENED HERE!? lawl

But Im not that dark though, because my mom is like a LiteBrite lol. And I think my dad is more of a milk chocolate. Im just kinda.. baked lol cuz i went to summer camp, so i'll probably lighten up again before I go. But I basically look like an oreo now, because my legs stomach and face are still really light, but my arms are crispy!! lol Can Anyone give tips to lighten up faster? lol thanks

But anyways, will I fit in? I know I'll be a lot bigger than everyone else. I know that I kinda fit in height-wise, but its wieght wise that im worried about!! Will I stick out too much?

If So, Are there any ways to lose maybe a pound or two off of the legs? I have until the summer of 2009, so I have time to work on it.

I don't want to sound TOO into it, but people are already going to point me out because they can clearly see that I'm a foreigner. =\ I already have most of the culture down, so now I just have to work on how I look. I guess I'd be considered somewhat small here, but in Japan it'll be like GODZILLA GODZILLA!

Thanks in Advance!

  1. Anyone will fit in anywhere you go. Youll always find people just like you

  2. I don't have much to say but just act yourself and don't act Japanese or you'll be disliked. Make sure to learn some basic Japanese also, it will help you get around a lot easier.

  3. From experience I can say that they are not so friendly towards foreigners and will not accept you as one of their own.

Also, dark skin is not really appreciated in Japan, sorry :(

  4. 30 years ago you would have been stared at because you are a "gaigen" but now you won't be bothered at all.  I got a book of slang sayings in Japanese that made life more fun. /
