Would I be able to add a mic onto a sony dcr-hc38?

The sony dcr-hc38 has a internal mic but I was wondering if I would be able to add a external shotgun mic through the mini usb port?

  1. No. This camcorder will not accept any external mic... if it had a proprietary Sony "Active Interface" shoe, there is an adapter - but this camcorder does not have that (or a mic-in jack).

    The USB port will allow only USB streaming - if the driver is compatible with your computer's operating system. The DV port will allow only transfer of video from the miniDV tape. The AV port is AV-out only.
