Question:

Would I be able to get my money back on pet fish I have bought that died within a week?

A week ago saturday I brought three fantail goldfish from a local pet shop that specializes in the sale of fish. It is a reasonably new place and I,as well as other people I know who have brought fish from the same place, have found that within a week at the most the fish are dead. The advice I was given to maintain the fish was slightly incorrect as I have had and kept fish before but I did everything following instructions used before for keeping goldfish with no problems. I was not given a receipt of any kind with the purchase.

Is there anyway I can get my money back?

  1. live stock uaually gauranteed 4 24hrs thats usual practise in the uk

  2. You can try. Bring a sample of the water, and the dead fish body up to the pet store, as well as the care instructions if they were written on paper. They should keep a record of sales somewhere, and it's their fault if they didn't give you a receipt.

If you don't feel like carrying a fish body up there, only to find that you won't get a refund, try calling them first.

  3. well first of all since they were fantail goldfish they would be reasonably expensive. So even if you dont have a receipt youi need some proof like the bag that they gave the fish in with the water(i dont mean the plastic bag but like the actual bag they put the fish in) They should give you you money or new fish back. The store near my house give you the same breed fish for free or if it's liek really expensive liek those fish for $100 and up they give it to you for half price. First call them up and check.

  4. they will tell u no receipt no refund if u explain to the shop what day u went to buy the fish they should have it on record of everything that was brought that day hope this helps u out

  5. I think you got ripped off.

  6. you need to find out from them each store has a different policy on returns.

  7. wow, u should just go talk to the person who sold it to you

they might remember selling a sweet fish

and if u can;t get ur pocket change back, then

    just make some fish filet's

  8. When my pet fish died, I made fried fish. yummy
