Would I be able to go swimming in these?

I know these are athletic shorts but can't i just use them as boy shorts?

probably. since they're not baggy no one would be able to see up them, and that would be my biggest concern.

the only other thing I can think of, is them looking too tight while their wet. make sure to go to the store and try them on make sure they don't give you camel toe or something.

they're cute btw, and I'm sure they would be awesome for a swimsuit, I thinkthey looked black, so get a really cute black bikini top. and, hey, skinnydipping can be fun if they don't work out lol

i'm sure you could swim in these....  the term i think that you were looking for was "board shorts"  and those are not much like board shorts.

I would say no because of the material.  They are cotton and that won't hold its shape in the water.  Have you ever seen someone with a sunburn wearing a white cotton t-shirt in the water, it ends up looking like a mumu and holding a lot of water.  Look for something similar in lycra, polyester or nylon and that would be fine.
