Would I be crazy if I didn't get the iPhone?

Question

I'm stuck between the Lg Vu and the apple iPhone. I was 100% set on the Vu until reality set in and I realized that I could get the iPhone for the same initial price. I posted another question asking which was better, and I've been thinking about it a lot because I'm fickle, and really need to be sure of something before I buy it.

I've sort of again decided on the Vu. And here's why.

I have some problems with the Vu but not many. Like, the Vu has a lower resolution and the images aren't as stunning on the scfreen. It also has lame at&t wallpapers but that's fixable. I've also heard that the touch screen is at a lesser quality than the iPhone, but will this really make my life harder when using it? I also don't really need tv on my phone, so without really caring for this feature, is this phone a bust?

My problems with the iPhone are that it's expensive, it doesn't allow picture messages to be sent or recieved, and the texting keyboard is permanetly stuck in portrait mode. I love that the Vu can go in landscape mode AND has the ability to do regular T9 texting on the number pad. It's also smaller and light weight without feeling cheap. iphone obviously has better internet, but I don't see myself being very dependent on the internet for either phone.

I think...that since I don't need a tiny laptop in my purse, I kind of want the Vu. Would I be insane not to go up a step and get the iPhone? Is is really that much better? I need honest opinions here, and I'm completely open, so please help.

Just get the phone you want.  If you really want the Vu, then get the Vu.

LG have POOR reliability and support they may look good but poor signal and quality.

Also LG phone refuse to connect to exchange data.

Apple has had bad press about signal but new update will fix that - remember it was released her before the rest of the world as  a test and the update is due in a few weeks and its guaranteed to fix the signal issue.

Apple iphones are a breeze to use and good quality.

Apple will keep on issuing update to add extra features but unlike the LG they have the app store where you can easily add games and tools to your phone (90% are free) in fact its so easy you end up with dozens of bits on your phone.

T9 texting is a breeze too and touch keyboard works like a dream th iphone does portrait landscape easily in fact the VU copied it from the original iphone.

beleive me after 6 month if you buy the VU you will be swishing you had the iphone!

try and AIM for one of the rare 16GB versions as 90% available are the basic 8GB.

It has come down in price alot. if you get it with a 2 year contract, its on $200.

There is an alternative MMS app that allows them. You need to jailbreak to get it though.

Get the Vu; here's why.

I'm a licensed Insurance Agent and I get calls all the time from people wanting to insure their IPhones. Unfortunately, there is no way to insure the phone unless you have the Apple I Care plan and even with that, it's not covered for losing, misplacing, breaking...etc.

The IPhone is a fad that will pass and really, who needs a mini-computer in their purse. It's convenient but unnecessary. Go with the LG. I have one and I really like it.

Go with the Vu. I had an iPhone and I hated it. I returned it and got one that was smaller and easier to use. I also hated that you couldn't send or receive pictures and there was no video camera. I got a Razor V3xx instead and saved a lot of money.
