I am 18 years old and have been having back problems for 2 years now, and have never gone to the doctor for it seeing as I never had any way to pay for it. I have recently acquired medical through the state via my father works for WSU. So, I was wondering, would I be eligible for medical marijuana? Also, my back hurts on a daily basis, everyday, for the past two years.

  1. I wouldn't think so, medical marijuana is more commonly prescribed to cancer patients going through chemotherapy to aid with that. As for a physical pain such as the back or something, again i wouldn't bet on it.

    Sorry =P

  2. Unless you're in CA, you're not getting a prescription, trust me.

  3. i very much doubt it they only really prescribe it for the worse cases i no of a guy with spinal bifida that has it just because he is in constant pain. you would be given various pain killers first.

  4. go to the right doctor and you can get a medical card for just about anything.

    I'm an insomniac, my current doctor doesnt give medical perscripsions, but if I changed doctors I would be able to get one with little difficulty.

  5. I believe they use that as a last resort because there are pills that are supposed to help ease pain. So my guess is they will give you some strong pain killers. After you try all the pills they are willing to dish out to you, then you might have a chance.

  6. I got my card for back pain in California about a month ago, but I don't know about your state specifically. It never hurts to try, though. If you're in a Medical Marijuana state there are usually doctors who do specifically Medical MJ recommendations.

    Depending on your states regulations for the prescriptions, you might be able to get it. Simply visit the doctor and explain that you don't feel comfortable using pharmaceutical drugs that are possibly harmful, but would instead prefer to use something natural such as cannabis. As long as it doesn't come off that you're a stoner trying to get baked legally, you will most likely be well off.

    If you want to check your state's guidelines out beforehand, go to norml.org and look them up. Good luck on getting your reccomendation.
