Question:

Would I enjoy a European cruise?

I am contemplating going on a cruise for my next vacation. Most likely a Medditeranean cruise. I love traveling and I worry that I won't get to see as much as I would like to. I like to search all over cities, but I am thinking a cruise to see more places. Maybe like a sampler platter to see where I would like to go in the future. I am pretty sure I would be ok on a Caribbean cruise, but there is so much more to see in Europe and I know there is a lot of travel time spent on the ship. If you've been on a cruise let me know what you think. Thanks.

  1. Check out a Globus land based tour instead. You will see so much more!  On a cruise you are only on land for a few hours.  You have to pay for shore excursions or you don't see anything.

I love cruising, but if you really want to see something, take an escorted tour.

    See your local travel agent.

  2. I am pretty young still and I have been on 2 European cruises and I though they were really fun!!! The Med. was the best. Seeing Italy was cool. But most of all Greece was the best. If you ever plan on going there renting mopeds is a lot of fun. There are beautiful beaches and so much to see. But yes, I do reccomend a European cruise!!

  3. You can get info about caribbean cruise and also book cheap cruise lines at: http://www.cruisedirect.org/

  4. I would not take my first cruise in the Med. Try a 3 or 4 day cruise first. You may not enjoy it. The reason I say that is that, on cruises, you only have a limited amount of time in each port. However, as a sampler it should be fine. There are so many fun things to do on board. If money is an issue, the Caribbean is generally less expensive. Visit a travel agent and pick up brochures from all the lines. Good luck.

  5. I've been on a number of European cruises and enjoyed each one of them. You get to see lots of ports without the hassle of packing and unpacking. We did Oceania several times -- it is a smaller, more casual ship -- and most of the cruising from port to port was done at night, so you were at a new city almost every day.

We've also done the Caribbean, and prefer Europe. Have fun.

  6. Well, check with some TV stations. Cruises have gotten a bad name by the conduct of crewmen aboard as hosts who accost the passengers especially females. Most are usually middle eastern who think they have a priviliged political status.
