Would I get a ticket for putting in a Amber dash light?

You are not permitted to do so.....

Depends on state law.  But if you are planning to use it like a police officer uses emergency lights you will get in big trouble.

You sure would. A false Amber Alert is a major crime! Sheesh.

I have made many Blue light & Red light charges. The reason was because every subject I wrote was give a writte warring a few weeks prior to me citing them. As far as you using an Amber light and being in the Fire Dept. as long as you only use it on a call you will be fine. I'll let you in on a little secert as well.  An officer can not cite you if a Blue, Red or for any unauthorized colored light, if the light is inside the vehicle and below the dadhboard were the public cannot see it. Were the problem comes in is when you have these kids who like to play and bring the lights up above the dashboard. Then you have people calling 911 that someone is useing a Blue light improperly. This charge is a felony my friend. You do not want that charge because judges put the heat on subjects when they come to court with that charge. I have seen judges give 90 days in jail for it and a huge fine !
