Would I go to jail or just get probation for failure to comply with police?

On Tuesday, I'll be filming hurricane Fay. I really don't plan on stopping the camera because I want storm footage. I'm not doing anything legal and I can prove I'm not looting by allowing the cop to search me. I'll also have the instruction manual at home for my camcorder as proof as I wasn't looting. The only charge I can think of I'll get is failure to comply. Would I get any other charges? Would I get probation or jail time? How much? I'm in Manatee county and 16. Would I get charged as an adult? Sources?

  1. See you in juvi hall, you cannot make adult moves as you are not an adult. Then your parents go to jail for abandonment.

  2. You would be in an area where there is extreme danger!  The police would order you to evacuate the area to a place of safety.

Provided that you left the area before you were injured or killed by the hurricane you could be charged with any one of several violations.  As you have noted failure to comply ... also possible interference with a law enforcement officer in the performance of his duties, other violations depending on jurisdiction.

I have never understood people who willingly place themselves in danger to be an eye witness to Mother Nature's wrath.  Why would you want to endanger yourself for this footage, would that footage be worth your life?

I fail to see how having the instruction manual for a camcorder would prove that you didn't loot it ... that manual would be in the box with the camcorder, it wouldn't matter if you bought it or stole it!

  3. the justice system and society is screwed up, so you'll probably be sent to prison.
