  1. if you are unsure what to say then do not say anything as any information you give out can be used as evidence.

you DO have the right to remain silent, and the right to an attorny. So tell your attorny what you know and they will deal with it best.

  2. You have the right to remain silent, anything you say or do can be used against you in a court of law, you have the right to have an attroney present during questioning, if you can not afford an attorney one will be provided for you.  Do you understand these rights?

  3. Yes you dont have to say a word.

if you did nothing wrong then you should talk though. Also, not saying anything implies guilt.

Edit: you should say "i want a lawyer" and then not say a word

  4. Yes, you should also ask to not talk until you get an attorney

  5. Correct. You're under no obligation to ever say anything.

  6. Once you are in custody and have had your rights read to you, you have the right to remain silent. In court, you cannot be forced to testify against yourself.

But convictions happen all the time without confessions. I don't watch those shows, but if that was true, then everyone would have to get off, unless they somehow manage to get them all to confess.
