I Got my car insurance canceled by missing to many payments. so in order for me to get insurance again i had to pay in full..which I did.

Now i moved out of that state and need the new states drivers license for a job. so when i have to register my car again and cancel the prepaid car insurance. do i have to pay in full again for my car insurance? or does it still show i paid in full and the new insurance company will say ok 30% down and your all set? anyone know ?

  1. Get the new insurance before canceling the other.

But there's guarantee as the insurance companies likes to make as much money (up front ) as possible.

    Good Luck...

  2. You need to call your insurance company to see if they are licensed in your new state.  If they are, the insurance can be transferred to a new agent in your new home.  If you can transfer, The rates may go up, down or stay the same because insurance is determined partially on locality

  3. Which company do you have?  If it is a national company like State Farm, Farmers or Auto Club the new insurance agent can just transfer the policy to the new state and the money will roll over to the new policy.

I have never heard of anyone having to pay in full.  However some states base payments on your credit score which is not a fair system.

  4. It's entirely up to whichever company you go with.
