Hi there. I am a non-Indian, but I love the style and beautiful fabrics of clothes from India. There are many Indian women in my community and I have always admired how comfortable and feminine they look. I am engaged and over 40. I do not want to wear a matronly suit or a dress. I would like to know if I would be insulting anyone by choosing a kameez and churidar to wear at my wedding. My fiance is not Inidan either.

  1. i think if you are comfortable why not?its your day and you can wear what looks and feels good on you, good luck for your wedding

  2. I'm not Indian, but I do know that many people have theme weddings and they don't seem to offend anyone.  People also wear Halloween costumes that don't offend anyone.  If you would be comfortable wearing that, then wear it.  I don't think the Indian people have a patent or rights of ownership on that style of clothing.

  3. Why on earth would that be offensive? You like it for the style, you complimented the beauty of the clothing, and in any case they're just clothes; they don't "belong" to anyone. btw, a lengha would be dressier/wedding style and would look adorable on a woman of any ethnicity. Have fun!

  4. yes, i think that is kind of offensive.....i wouldn't want to see another nationality flying the American flag if they did not consider themselves American
