Would I ruin my swamp cooler if I just run the pump for about 10 minutes, then just the fan.

Until I can get my pump fixed...it has just recently started making a weird noise.

I just dont want to ruin the entire system....

It won't hurt it at all. We had the pump go out and my brother in law would simply go outside and hose down the swamp cooler. Sears came by and fixed it. A pump don't cost that much money.Why don't you try and oil it.
