  1. First of all, Jesus didn't have to spell out in explicit detail every development that would take place.

Second, Jesus gave the authority to sinful human beings, the Apostles and their successors, the power to bind and loose. Scripture proves, as we see below, that the Apostles changed the primary day of worship to Sunday THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, although being Jewish, still went to  friendly synagoges on Saturday. They were thrown out of most of them.

Matt. 28:1; Mark 16:2,9; John 20:1,19- the Gospel writers purposely reveal Jesus' resurrection and appearances were on Sunday. This is because Sunday had now become the most important day in the life of the Church.

Acts 20:7 - this text shows the apostolic tradition of gathering together to celebrate the Eucharist on Sunday, the "first day of the week." Luke documents the principle worship was on Sunday because this was one of the departures from the Jewish form of worship.

1 Cor. 16:2 - Paul instructs the Corinthians to make contributions to the churches "on the first day of the week," which is Sunday. This is because the primary day of Christian worship is Sunday.

Col. 2:16-17 - Paul teaches that the Sabbath was only a shadow of what was fulfilled in Christ, and says "let no one pass judgment any more over a Sabbath."

2 Thess. 2:15 - we are to hold fast to apostolic tradition, whether it is oral or written. The 2,000 year-old tradition of the Church is that the apostles changed the Sabbath day of worship from Saturday to Sunday.

Heb. 4:8-9 - regarding the day of rest, if Joshua had given rest, God would not later speak of "another day," which is Sunday, the new Sabbath. Sunday is the first day of the week and the first day of the new creation brought about by our Lord's resurrection, which was on Sunday.

Heb. 7:12 - when there is a change in the priesthood, there is a change in the law as well. Because we have a new Priest and a new sacrifice, we also have a new day of worship, which is Sunday.

Rev 1:10 - John specifically points out that he witnesses the heavenly Eucharistic liturgy on Sunday, the Lord's day, the new day of rest in Christ.

Matt. 16:19; 18:18 - whatever the Church binds on earth is bound in heaven. Since the resurrection, Mass has been principally celebrated on Sunday.

"...Seventh-Day Adventism is basically consumed with the concept of the last days. It was formed from the remnants of the Millerite movement, which was created to await the world’s end. In White’s end times view, the Jewish Sabbath and the Catholic Church play prominent roles.

According to her, the papacy is the seven-headed beast from the sea in Revelation 13:1–10. Accompanying this beast is a lamb-like beast from the earth (Rev. 13:11–18). The latter causes the world to worship the former and has an image made of it. White proclaimed that the second beast is the United States (The Great Controversy, 387–8), and that it will force people to worship the papacy by "enforcing some observance which shall be an act of homage to the papacy" (ibid., 389). This observance, she says, is Sunday worship rather than Saturday worship.

White claims that the papacy changed the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday, making this change a mark of its authority. In her view, there will come a time when the United States will establish a "national Sunday law" and compel its citizens to worship on Sunday and thus take the mark of the beast. It will not compel them to become Catholics, but to join a Protestant state-church that is an "image" of the papacy, and thus, "the image of the beast" (ibid., 382–96).

Seventh-Day Adventism cannot change its views on the Catholic Church being the w***e of Babylon without admitting that it was wrong on Sunday worship. It cannot admit that Sunday worship is not the mark of the beast without changing its views on the Jewish Sabbath. Seventh-Day Adventism cannot cease to be anti-Catholic without ceasing to be Seventh-Day Adventism."

  2. I don't think which day we choose is a deal breaker.

  3. Honor the Sabbath Day Saturday. Constantine changed it... that's why people celebrate it sunday after the pagan traditions.

  4. No because the Sabbath did not change . You are still supposed to honor it by spending the day with your family and going to church for fellowship with other christians and having a nice big dinner together.  Of cource now you wont be stoned to death for working on the sabbath.

  5. Jesus Himself told us that "the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath".  This type of scrapping over irrelevant details gives all CHristians a bad name.  Cut it out, please.

  6. Sabbath is still Saturday the last I knew.  Who says that it has been changed?  Of course Christians do worship on Sunday, or as some call it Sonday.  Because that is the day of the Resurrection.

  7. The Jewish Christians had the revelation of Scripture; the prophesies concerning Christ.  Christ referred to the new covenant in his blood.  The new covenant was foretold in prophesy in Jeremiah 31, and that the new was not to be like the old.

Your citations regarding Paul result in assumptive conclusions. The examples of Paul going to synagogues and places of worship on sabbaths was solely for the purpose of preaching to Jews and devout Gentiles.  If Paul had gone to synagogues on any other day, no one would have been there.

Also, Paul makes it quite clear he was not personally under the law, but rather under the law of Christ; a law of faith.

    .

  8. Jesus said, remember the sabbath.

  9. The Law of faith Paul was "under" and was preaching:

Rom 10:8  But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"-- that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,  (NASB)

Paul was quoting Deuteronomy 30:14, he was preaching observance of the Torah and therefore enforcing the Sabbath.

Deu 30:14  "But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it.

What Paul forsook was the man-made traditions "law" of Judaism, his "former manner of life". People in Judaism regard the oral tradition as law and at times superseding the written Torah.

    Gal 1:13  For you have heard of my former manner of life in Judaism, how I used to persecute the church of God beyond measure, and tried to destroy it;

Gal 1:14  and I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries among my countrymen, being more extremely zealous for my ancestral traditions.

Mat 15:3  And He answered and said to them, "And why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?
