Would March be a bad time of year to visit China in terms of weather?

Its ok for visiting the middle parts of China the northern parts will be covered in snow and maybe the southwestern parts as well.

Watch out for the sand storms towards the end of the month.

Please be aware that the Chinese have a massive Spring Festival each year, sometimes called Chinese New Year here in the West.

Most people in China take this opportunity to return to their ancestral homes - it is very important to be with the ancestors.  Avoid this time of year because travel is next to impossible - millions of millions on the move.

China is a very large country. Depending on where you visit determines the weather.

It is warm in the south and still cold in the north.

No hurricanes or typhoons are around in the spring, avalanches are only in the mountains with lots of snow.

Rain is always possible, and the wind blows most of the time.
