  1. Last years RedSox / Rockies was the lowest.    but yeah  that might get it

  2. Ya...I suppose. I'd still watch it cause I watch all the playoff & WS games.

  3. Bet there isnt much talk of this possibility. Could happen too. There usually is talk of another subway series with NY, and even Chicago, but no one would dare to think of Florida having an in state WS.  Not sure if it would be the lowest rated, just not an eye catching series as with the likes of Angels vs Cubs, or Brewers, and such.

Both Florida teams dont get nearly enough media attention, especially Tampa, and it surely would be somethign if this were to happen this season with all the talk about Angels, Boston, Cubs, NY.  I would definitely watch it though and pull for Rays as I have been doing since late last season, unless they have a series with Yankees, then it just hurts too much.

  4. Maybe.  But it might be worth watching for the commentary.

  5. Yes, boring too, but it's not going to happen, sorry

  6. I'm sure Fox would by crying, they dont ever like it if nobody from the east makes the world series.  marlins and rays would make them reaaaal mad.

  7. Probably, but I would still watch it.

  8. no....i would watch it...and that is all that counts

  9. The Chicago White Sox first championship in 88 years was also the lowest rated world series of all time when they played the Astros in 2002.  Should the Marlins and Rays go to the world series they would bring with them the two lowest team payrolls with the Marlins dead last in attendance and the Rays 26th out of 30 teams.  I would love to see this match-up because it shoves it right in the face of all the other teams that couldn't do it with more money and fans.  However, I would have to believe that this match-up would not generate much interest and advertisers and MLB would like to see some other teams.  These are two teams that could take this nebulous honor away from the Sox and Astros.

  10. h**l no

al the band wagoner rays fans would make it not be the lowest rated

  11. Several Bandwagoners will probably emerge in the postseason should they get into the playoffs. Like the Rockies last year, no one heard about them until they won 21 of 22? Then everyone suddenly became their fan. Both teams would carry a large bandwagon and would push up ratings. Especially the feel-good story Rays. But a lower rated WS would be the Marlins against the Orioles. I've only seen about 5 Orioles fans in my lifetime

  12. absolutly not

the rays are at the top of their division not the yankees or  sox this surprised everybody i think

the marlins were the team to watch in about may

even early on in the season 4 of their guys were leading the mlb with hr

  13. Yes, because both teams have some of the smallest fan bases in the MLB. Tampa Bay is 26th and Florida is 30th in attendance this year, even when they are both in serious playoffs contentions. People on this forum say they will watch, but that isn't even a fraction of a rating increase. And just because the people here watch, it doesn't mean others will, even though some people here seem to think that way.

  14. I don't think it would but i am sure most of the sports world would vote it as the lowest-rated world series of all time.

  15. it probably would, but since im a true blue baseball fan i'd still watch it.

  16. NO IT WOULDNT I WOULD WATCH AND THIS YEAR THE RAYS ARE IN THE TOP 10 IN TV RATINGS THIS YEAR AND THE MARLINS  ARE IN THE TOP 15   THEIR TWO OF THE MOST EXCITING TEAMS IN BASEBALL IF THAT WERE TO HAPPEN THOUGH THE MARLINS HAVE THE EDGE BECAUSE OF THE LONG BALL AND THE RAYS PICTHING IS 8TH THIS YEAR IN HR GIVEN UP

  17. no it might  actually be high, those are two teams that alot of people would love to see play but dont live in florida, they dont get very many fans at games but they get more telvision viewers than most teams

  18. Probably, although people would still watch it.

  19. yeah, the stadiums would probably be half full, too.

  20. Yes because the Rays are far better than the Marlins.

  21. I'm sure people would watch it,but I'm also sure there could be more exciting World Series match-ups than that.

  22. I don't think so. The Rays have never been to the playoffs let alone the World Series. I bet a lot of true baseball fans would be pulling for them.

  23. Yes... I would watch it, but I would watch the World Series no matter what teams are in it. If they want ratings, they need a Yankees/Cubs World Series

  24. Yes, and Cubbies and White Sox would probably be one of the highest rated!!!!!

    GO CUBBIES!!!!!!!

  25. Possibly due to small market teams. But I would watch it.

  26. I'd watch it, these teams are both fun to watch.

  27. It would be hard pressed to beat the 2005 world series, (White Sox vs Astros).  The fact is a Marlins - Rays worlds series would probably not generate very much interest outside of Florida.  Frankly I don't see either team making it to the big show considering that the Cubs and Phillies are better teams in the National League and the Angels are by far the best team in the American League and possibly all of baseball this season.
