Question:

Would Martin Luther King Jr. vote for Obama?

Call me crazy, but I think he would have actually looked at where both candidates stand on the issues and vote for who is most qualified. Some people in the African-American community are blindly voting for Obama just because they want to see a black president. By the way, MLK Jr. was a Republican.

  1. Most likely he was a commie piece of c**p also, it is only because of his peaceful protest approach that history whitewashed that fact away.

  2. h**l No

  3. The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a man of honor and i am sure a responsible citizen who voted on the issues and not party lines as I am certain that you are implying a McCain endorsement.  To assume and postulate about the deceased's possible future choices of matters of no consequence to them at this particular time is decadence and frivolous, but since you insist.  I think that the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would have voted for the politician with the greatest vision for the country.  The man with a commitment to move the country form its archaic present tense to a socially more responsible, religiously more tolerant, sexually more equal, and personally more neutral place.  I imagine that Dr, King would be deeply concerned about the ability of our men and women in uniform to come and integrate back into society with the health (including mental health)benefits that they deserve.  He would undoubtedly want their families at home supported and honored along with the courageous heroes.  And lastly I cannot imagine Dr. King wanting anything more that wanting the decency and respect that he worked so hard to obtain honored respected unsullied and given to all other citizens, not only of the United States, but all of the children of GOD.

  4. I watched an interview a few weeks ago with Mr King's daughter, she said her father would have never voted for Obama because Obama is for abortion and Mr King was dead set against it. Mr King saw it as genicide.

  5. No he wasn't. He never talked politically parties because he said it caused to much tension. Let me see your source. MLK would vote for Obama because he knows Obama wants to help the common man, unlike McCain who is completely disconnected and only cares about the top 5%.

    McCain quote

"If you are making under 80,000 dollars a year you are probably too stupid to understand taxes anyway" - John McCain

he didn't realize the huffington post was in the room

  6. No he wouldn't. Mr. King was a man of integrity and could spot a phoney a mile away. And Obama is a phoney

  7. King would vote according to the content of a man's character   ...not the color of his skin!

    McCain/Palin   2008

  8. Martin Luther King was not only a republican, but he was conservative.  There is no way he would vote for Senator Obama

  9. There is no way he would.. his ideas and wants for the United States have been perverted by race baiting hit men like Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton to the point he would be ashamed to have been associated with them. He would love the idea of a African American having a chance to in but he wouldn't vote for this one.

  10. Maybe he would...but then again, maybe not.  Today is a whole different "metagame" than the sixties, but still, he may have seen Obama's blatant race card as counter-productive to the movement.  However, there's no evidence he was a Republican or a Democrat.  There were large pushers (Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon)--and large resistors (Strom Thurmond)--of the civil rights movement in BOTH parties, so as far as we know he didn't favor one.

  11. MLK was a radical in a good and admirable way.

Obama is a radical in a bad and deluded way.

  12. no. i think martin luther king Jr. would be smart enough to realize that obama is trying to get people to vote for him by making them feel racist if they dont vote for him. he shouldnt use his race to his "advantage"...

  13. No...even MLK Jr. is smarter than that.
