Would RAM from my dell inspiron 6400 compatible with dell inspiron 2200?

Question

I currently have 2 512 MB sticks in my inspiron 6400. I'm buying 2GB off dell's website.

My friend has an inspiron 2200, with only 1 512 MB stick.

If i gave him one of my 512 MB sticks after i get my new RAM, would it be compatible with his laptop?

no, mayve if it is same, or was a 6420 or 6410 per say

Www.Crucial.com will tell you what type of Ram ur currently using based on the model of the computer and then just compare it with the new models.
