Would Salem be a good name for liberated Palestine?

We want to be fair,if the idea is to create a true multicultural democracy,fair to all with no ethno-religious bias. In Arabic it means peace (salaam),also in Hebrew (shalom) and of course Salem is associated by Christians with Jerusalem.

  3. I'd say keep it Palestine; that has been it's name since at least 500 B.C.; we know that from the Greek historian Herodotus.

  6. I  would not take the name Salem as a connection to any of what you said

    less and less the use of the name Salem these days only those who keeps up family inherits would name it meaning the son keeps up his fathers name

    although king Salem of oor Salem is one good name connected to the history of Jerusalem but these day the link is almost unclear in daily life in for people over here

  10. I think it is a lovely name, and I hope that the creation of a Palestinian state would mean peace between Israel and the Arab world.

  11. Sounds good to me; sooner or later the zionist regime will go the way of Yugoslavia and we can't use Palestine as a name - unfortunately - since that would imply another ethnic state. I endorse it. It is the Holy Land and the word does mean peace. What could be more appropriate?
