At this point, Biden will do almost anything to leap frog over the rest of the field to obtain the Democratic nomination.

Running with Hillary and Bill would be no problem.

Probally not.

Most Vice presidents are chosen to balance the ticket.

Ie: Biden is from the North East,

So he would need help in the South or West.

So more than likely his VP would be someone who would bring in support in the South or West.

Another consideration is,

A very liberal candiate, might choose a moderate or conservative VP to help balance the ticket and to bring support from those party elements.

Or vice vs, a moderate or conservative candiate might choose a liberal VP to help balance the ticket.

Of course when I say liberal, moderate and conservative,

Im talking about inside the party, not nationaly.

Other factors that are looked at.

Candiates weak in foreign policy, might choose a VP that has strong foreign policy experience.

Candiates weak in domestic policy might choose a candiate strong in domestic policy.

Usually they try and factor in several of these at the same time, so the ticket reachs out to the broadest base of support.
