  1. I hope ghosts can hear the music they liked when they were alive. If they can't, I want to stay alive as long as I possibly can. See? Now you've got me all upset about dying. On a Friday too. Thanks a lot Darth.

On the other hand, I kind of hope ghosts can't hear the music that is being played now. For instance, I hope people like John Lennon and Jerry Garcia, and Jimi Hendrix can't hear bands like MCR & FOB. Think how upsetting that would be for them.

  2. Parapsychology is the scientific and scholarly study of certain unusual events associated with human experience.

A long-held, common-sense assumption is that the worlds of the subjective and objective are completely distinct, with no overlap. Subjective is "here, in the head," and objective is "there, out in the world." Parapsychology is the study of phenomena suggesting that the strict subjective/objective dichotomy may instead be part of a spectrum, with some phenomena occasionally falling between purely subjective and purely objective. We call such phenomena "anomalous" because they are difficult to explain within current scientific models.

These anomalies fall into three general categories: ESP (terms are defined below), PK, and phenomena suggestive of survival after bodily death, including near-death experiences, apparitions, and reincarnation. Most parapsychologists today expect that further research will eventually explain these anomalies in scientific terms, although it is not clear whether they can be fully understood without significant (some might say revolutionary) expansions of the current state of scientific knowledge. Other researchers take the stance that existing scientific models of perception and memory are adequate to explain some or all parapsychological phenomena.

  3. Hey Darth,

Although I fortunately cannot be sure of this and hopefully won't be for a long time, I do think ghosts can both hear, and enjoy music. I think the love you feel for something will remain in your heart forever.

I don't really have anything else to say. This isn't a topic that I know much about.

  4. R&P question:

    Yes!

I was watching ghost hunters and when they went into ball room they heard music!

And no one was in there except members from TAPS!

Well, ghosts have to listen to music!

No one can live without music!

    Wait...

    Ghosts are dead!

  5. I know the definitions of it...like on Google. This is kinda the way I think of it. The Paranormal  term is kinda like you'd call a paranormal medical problem or symptoms as Parapsychologists are like the  medical doctors. I don't know if I said that right. I don't mean that it has anything to do with the medical profession...it's just a comparison. Maybe someone can say it better than I did.   I don't think we have any accredited parapsychologists on here..but if you did they would be the ones who help us understand our experiences and whether or not they are really paranormal ..or something else. I think most of our "parasychologists" also answer questions on the paranormal section too. Hope that helps a little. Hope I have it right too.

  6. Parapsychology (from the Greek: παρά para, "alongside" + psychology) is the study of ostensibly paranormal psychological phenomena. Phenomena studied include extra-sensory perception, psychokinesis, and survival of consciousness after death.

  7. Short and sweet: It's supposed to be the scientific study of paranormal psychological phenomena, such as ESP, telekinesis (psychokinesis), past lives, near death experiences, remote viewing.  It's basically the paranormal with a laboratory smock thrown over it. Ghosts aren't usually included in the realm of parapsychology except as a psychological phenomenon of sorts.

  8. Junk science.

  9. I read once that souls on the other side enjoy concerts.  I immedialtey thought of Janis Joplin or Beethoven.

  10. I'm sure that Dr. Peter Venkman could answer your question better than I could.  Sometimes you see his commercials on TV.  "We're ready to believe you!" .

  11. Hey Darth, How you doin?

Parapsychology is the study of ostensibly paranormal psychological phenomena. Phenomena studied include extra-sensory perception, psychokinesis, and survival of consciousness after death. Parapsychologists call these phenomena psi, a neutral term non-suggestive of what causes the phenomena or experiences.

R&P Question: Well, I have heard stories about people hearing music or about the radio mysteriously turning on in a haunted house.  So maybe it is true.
