I'm thirteen and I love Stephanie Meyer's Twilight Saga so now that it's over for a while I want to read The Host...is it ok for 13 year olds?

  1. It is appropriate, although I wouldn't recommend it for young teenagers.  It's a book you have to be older to appreciate and understand the underlaying meaning of the plotline.

  2. It is considered an adult novel, however I don't recall anything inappropriate for a 13 yr old reader.  It is not written exactly like the Twilight Saga, but I'd say it would be a good read for you regardless.

  3. I haven't personally read it but my friend did and it seems to be appropriate.  A lot of 13 year olds I know have read it.

  4. No, it's for adults only.

  5. If you read BD

    I guess you can

    Its really good!!!!

  6. yesss!! lol as you know, since you read the twilight series, stephenie meyer dosnt show sexualiy. the host isnt scary dispite the cover. and its a good book :] i just finished reading it

  7. Most definitely. Actually, in terms of adult themes, it's much cleaner than any one of the books from the Twilight Saga. I read The Host and all the Twilight books, and the only difference to me that might make The Host an adult book is because of the slower plot. It's pace isn't as fast...

  8. The Host is not the same as the Twilight series; it isn't the same storyline or anything. It is for older readers, but I don't think it would be unsuitable for younger readers if you read her other books.
